This is the new Attwood brake actuator with an integral back up solenoid valve. Disc brakes work just as well in reverse as going forward. To avoid the brakes locking up in reverse you need a way to disable the hydaulic actuator when you put your truck in reverse. This is accomplished by wiring your vehicle with a 6 pin plug. 4 wires for the lights, 1 wire for the ground and one wire connected to your back up lights. With the back up lights connected to the Attwood brake actuator solenoid, when you put your vehicle in reverse, there will be no hydralic fluid sent to the brakes. I have installed this Attwood brake actuator on my trailers for my Outrage 18 as well as my Outrage 25 cuddy.
