Boston Whaler - Capacity Plate Damage
When compounding the interior of the hull, I had neglected to apply masking tape over the aluminum capacity plate to protect it. Unfortunately, compounding had erased some of the information which had been silk screened onto the capacity plate. or those seeking to address worn capacity plates or hull ID plates, Magic Brush is a great source for providing a decal with the boat's original capacity information. Magic Brush utilizes files supplied by Boston Whaler to generate these decals. I removed the original capacity plate by drilling out the pop rivets, flipped the plate over, cleaned the surface, and then applied the decal to the plate. I opted to protect the decal with a few coats of automotive clear coat. The capacity plate was then pop riveted back in place with some 1/8" diameter pop rivets.
