This photo through the hatch access into the console. I have taken great pains to bed, gasket and essentially waterproof this space when attaching console to deck.

Every cu. in. of dry space is valuable on a small boat. This poorly understood Law is one of the reasons I wanted to do this project myself. Bilge space is valuable only if you cram stuff into it and make the space work for you.
