Wow I don't know if I've ever seen a Whaler that bastardized. Take a look at the outside of the transom. If there are three hand holds built into it I believe you found yourself a Whaler. What a shame, it must have had some major bow damage for someone to chop her up like that. It looks like an early Whaler. Here's a link to what I believe it should look like.
