We are getting closer to finding the transition year that the sprue hole changed from the top of the foredeck in front of the bow locker cover to In the bow locker itself.

The year so far appears to be 1970.
Early 1970 models have the sprue hole on top of the foredeck.
Later 1970 model have the sprue hole in the bottom of the bow locker itself.

Here is a 1970 with the full splashwell and the sprue hole is on the top foredeck.

So now we have two 1970 models with different sprue hole locations.

1969, 2A1583 = sprue hole on top of foredeck - http://www.whalercentral.com/infusion...r_id=13762
1970, 2A3212 = sprue hole on top foredeck - http://www.whalercentral.com/infusion...r_id=15669
1970, 2A4131 = sprue hole in bottom of bow locker - http://home.comcast.net/~tomwclark/sp...lecap.jpeg

For this research we will need the stencil number of your boat if you want to submit your input....
Anyone want to tell us what they have in relationship to the sprue hole location around 1970 or anything that throws a curve to what we are already reporting?
See this article and look at the Special Notes: http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...cle_id=101
We will be adding the Sprue Hole location to the Notes.

Also see this FAQ for other changes in 13' models.
