All,
I have what looks to be an infestation of little, insty tinsty mites. They are no bigger that the period in this sentence ( . ). They seem to just be minding their own as the scour around for who knows what food source.
The boat is a 1990 Montauk with some aged teak that is currently being refinished.
Does any one have any idea what these might be.

Thanks

My 1990 Revenge had the same insect infestation when I bought her. Not sure the name of the critters or what they eat, (probably just about anything) but I did find that as I closed up more and more extra screw holes and got rid of damp areas, the creepy crawly population dropped significantly. Our bugs are most likely a direct descendant from the original Whaler factory in Massachusetts. In case your population drops below factory specs, the OEM Boston Whaler part number is BW595.786.

Soapy water is a great "green" way to kill bugs. Just plain dish soap and water works.

Tie a tarp tight over the boat and set off a fogger or two, that should do it.
