Has anyone installed a thru the hull discharge for bilge pump on a 18 ' Outrage? My Outrage is a 1989 and my discharge hose dumps into the splash well.

I think a thru the hull discharge on the starboard side would look better and be a better place to discharge.

I installed one on a 17' Outrage. I used a recessed plastic 'cup' like the fuel tank vent uses to recess it into the inside of the hull.

I did the mod a long time ago and the plastic part for the vent line was still available from Whaler. I'm not sure if it or something similar is still available.

I recently redid the tank cover floor (replaced the plywood and refibreglassed etc.) and the fuel tank. I shortened the tank and placed a Rule 500 in the new sump area, second pump is an Atwood S500 automatic. If you look at my personal page you can see the thru-hulls I installed. I did away with the foam as you can see, replacing the aluminum straps with stainless and welded tabs that bolt to the tank both for and aft. I secured 3/4 inch neoprene strips to the underside of the tank with 5200 to allow water to move freely. The thru-hulls are Conbraco Long bronze thru-hulls,I got them from Discount Marine on line. I had to cut a little off maybe 3/4 of an inch or so. I used a hole saw for the holes, drill from the outside and make sure you're perpendicular when drilling so the outer flange will lay flush, I learned this from the first one I drilled, had a little adjusting with it. The second one went wham bam.

Paul

Can you describe how you mated the hose to the fitting. What adapter did you use? What size through hull did you install?

Wish I would have known about those long thru-hulls before I did mine.

Loved viewing your personal page Paul, boat looks great.

Thanks for all the information everyone.

PH Harold,
Wow, Nice Job, nice boat.

I am thinking about mounting the thru the hull near the stern on the starboard side. Close to the bilge pump.
