Clean hull with the trailer, no engine. Has the side rails and a fiberglass wheel house. Not sure if this is original? Texas boat (ID # 35018). Not sure what model it is either. Hull is in decent shape. I'm excited to get working on her! I will post some pic's. Thanks in advance!!

Congratulations and welcome to WhalerCentral.

That would be a 1966 16' model.

Take a look through the Whaler Model Specifications for photos of models and see if you recognize any models there.

The title says "67". No arguments, you know your Whalers! Should I try and get the year on the title changed? Thanks in advance.

I have looked, but mine is pretty bare, I just have the side rails and the fiberglass wheel house. Not sure if it's original, I thought they were all mahogoney.

Not necessary.
Many older boats registration is not correct.
It might have been sold for the first time in 1967 and they just neglected to put the proper year model down.

Enjoy it...
Now, what model is it?
Have you looked through the Whaler Model Specifications link on the left sidebar?
Look at all the 16' models and let us know.
If you can't recognize it, then someone has customized it and it is now a Custom 16' model.
The interior determines the model as the hulls are basically all the same during those years.

The Katama model has a fiberglass console but not sure what you have.

Contacted BW this morning. The model I have is a Currituck. Already started to prep her for gelcoat refinish. Lot's of sanding and itching! It would have come with Mahogoney pilot house and seats. Not sure if the glass pilot house that I have was made by BW. It's in good shape, debating on whether to use it or not.

A Currituck model does not have a Fiberglass console like you told us.

If your boat doesn't look like this, then it is not a Currituck 16 at this time.

If you have an aftermarket console and/or interior, then what you really have is a "Custom" 16 model now.

Let us know what you have now.

BW built and sold the hull as a 'Currituck" in 66', as was explained to me from a rep at BW. I am on the fence as to whether or not to install the fiberglass wheel house and make it a "custom" as you noted. I like the simple lines and wood control configuration of the original model. I also like the idea of the raised controls afforded by the fiberglass wheel house. It is not installed at this time. Either way, the boat has beautiful lines and by the time I finish, it will be a "looker"! Thanks for all the info Joe, I appreciate the help!
