I have been searching for a few weeks now. Almost pulled the trigger on a 2000 EdgeWater 185CC a couple of weeks back but got scared off by some conditional/maintenance concerns. This whaler is beyond my budget but I would feel safer in a 20 and am willing to over extend myself a little more to get a whaler.

A couple of questions:

1.) I have heard that there are a range of years where there were transom issues; any truth to that or was I misinformed?
2.) Probably a good idea to have a survey done; are the fuel tanks a problem area?

Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated as I go take a look at this boat today.

I am quite sure that 1989 is one of the better 20s.
