I was wondering if there is a way to tell what model I have by the Hull # 3A3967? I know it is a late 1970 model '16 foot, but after new paint, console, etc., it is hard to tell exactly what model it is. By looking at the floor, I am pretty sure the original console was in the center as it is now. Let me know if you have any idea.
Thanks
The only way to find out what model this used to be is to contact Chuck Bennett at whaler.com and give him your stencil number.
Obviously, it really doesn't matter at this point.
You have an aftermarket console and aftermarket pilot seat so basically you now have a "Custom" model.
Anything that isn't an original interior layout is a custom model.
Here are the most common center console 16 models in order.
1. Nauset 16
2. Eastport 16
3. Sakonnet 16
Look through the Whaler Model Specification link on the left sidebar to view photos of the above models.
All these models use the same basic console. The Eastport has a stern seat and the Sakonnet has a forward platform and Reversible Pilot Seat. The Reversible Pilot Seat was optional in the other models.
Thanks Joe. I appreciate it. I think it WAS a Nauset, but it doesn't really matter at this point. I had just finally gotten the serial # and was curious. Custom is fine with me!
