Do not have any experience with this model, Have had older 17s with the older style hull. Looking for any comments/opinions on this 1996 model with a 115
Evinrude Ocean Pro engine. The boat looks great excited about getting it.
I was close to buying one of these about 5 years ago before I went to the SSL 17. I thought it was a very nice boat. But compared to your exiting hull it will be much heavier. It will also ride much better in the chop. I have only driven an 18 hull like this.
I decided against it because it was a bit pricey and I did not trust the late 90's/2000 era OMC's FLITCH engines at the time. This was outfitted with a 115 Flitch engine. I do not recall if it was the original engine. I do not think is was.
Anyway, I thought it was a very nice hull. This is a rare model from what I recall. I do not think many 17's were made, 16's, and 18's were more popular. I guess BW was competing there own popular Montuak, a 17 model at the time. Just my thoughts.
Good luck!
