I am thinking of buying either white or clear gel coat and trying to mix since its about 1/4 the cost of premixed desert tan gel coat. Any tried to do this on their own? How did you do it and how did it turn out?
Thanks,
Joshua

Josh,
You will be; as most of us are; on a budget.
Spectrum makes a "dandy" polyester/ gel coat resin and will have it available in quarts and gallons.
My cap section as in phase one was completed by using the Spectrum desert tan product.
For my decking sections as in phase two
And my hull surfaces as in phase three
I did end up acquiring a harder finishing formula called
Isothalic Polyester gel and getting it tinted at my favorite paint store.
* I have since then found a very gifted Glass man that will be mixing the colors for my gel the next time around.
Question will be:
Are you ready to re gel the whole surfaces?
Spot repairs perhaps?
Give me a bit of your thinking in regard to your needs.
