Ok...need your advice, thoughts on rub rails. I am in the process of restoring a 1965 13 Sport. I have been looking at the rub rail kits from Specialty Marine. Any pro's or con's?? Is there a better choice? Trying to keep the boat as close as possible to original...not sure what was original since the current rub rail was aluminum with black insert. I will post pictures tomorrow....have made lots of progress since the weather has finally turned nice here.....yeah!!
I'm restoring my 1976 11 footer and bought the rubrail kit from Specialty Marine. The new one from SM is identical to the existing original one on my boat. The only exception was that it came with SS screws and I plan on using rivets as in the oem one. Also because I'm going to re-establish the bow light wiring that travels through the black rubrail space. (The screw heads would block some of the space, so I didn't want to chance it.)
