I am looking at a real nice 11 SS with a 15 horse 4 stroke Mercury outboard on it. My question is will this get itself out of it's own way? He has installed trim tabs on it and says it goes well. I'm not looking to pull any skiers or anything but don't want to be helpless. It's going to replace a 10' Zodiac and will float in front of my boat. I like the small size for storage reasons in front of my boat but I was hoping for some input from the pros. Thank you
I have the same whaler and I have a 15 mercury 2 stroke on it. It moves plenty well with two, ok with three but, won't plane with four. Why four well its a whaler isn't it. I'm thinking I might put on a twenty five mercury I have. It's probably over kill but it's what I have. A twenty would probably be best even though the boat is only rated for 15. I'm no speed demon I just want to move well enough with four. Hope this helps.
