Has anyone worked with wire loom (the corrugated cable protectors) on their boat. I am about to start rewiring and figure I should run everything through one of these to make it look neat and tidy. If so, any tips on what kind and where to get some?
EDIT - In case I have the wrong name for this stuff, I am looking for the protective tubing that houses the battery cables, steering cable, etc. going to the motor.
thanks

Hi Chris, did mine 3yrs ago, replaced all the looming under the gunn'le and in the stern splash well. Got it from NAPA and also replaced the cable clamps as well. Those came from a marine store. Very easy to put on as it is split down the middle.

I like the way the one that wraps like a coil looks, and it is very easy to use. If you are talking about work under the console this type will make a very neat appearance and still let you see the wire if you ever have to trouble shoot and issue. I used it on my 15 on the wires all the way to the motor and it looked very good.
I may use the tube on my new project in the back of the boat if it does not end up looking to big. I am not sure what size rigging tubes are available.
When I did my console rewire (it was a disaster) I ran all the wires so that there were several routes:
- Rigging tunnel up to the console roof and electronics box.
- Rigging tunnel to the key switch, .
- T off the key switch run to the bus bar
- Bus bar to each of the gauge panels.
Once I had all the wires in their final spot (with a little slack) I covered them with loom. I ran the wires to the instrument panels extra long so I can pull the panel out and work on it.
There is a photo on my personal page showing the general idea.
