I recently acquired a "new for me" slightly used RPS and mounted it in my 17' former SuperSport, now Montauk....I bedded in the feet of the RPS at the screw holes with BoatLife Caulk.
When I first opened this tube of Boatlife, it was a bit watery...kind of thin for bedding compound...
Anyone else have that experience? What do you all prefer for bedding compound?
I had that happen on a tube of 5200 once, you have a bad tube. Take it back to the store it is either old or stored at the wrong temperature. I used 4200 on my RPS seat.
Depends on which type of boat life used, I normally recommend boat life as a below the waterline sealant for screws and fittings. It's great for what it's for. I'd recommend Sikkaflex for your job. It is a true bedding compound and used by many OEM's
