Can I get some ballpark figures on the value of my Whaler. I may be selling in the Spring.
The details:
Been in the family since the mid 70's.
Passed down to me from my grandfather.
I have had it since 1990.
Original clear coat.
Original Mahogany hatch cover, seats, console. Recoated with varnish in the spring!
Original Railings.
Bimini top.
Newer rub rail.
New teleflex stearing wheel and steering.
Comes with a trailer in great shape (not original).
Battery, battery case, gas tank and hose.
Anchor.
NO ENGINE.
I would love to keep it, but it just gets moved back and forth from winter storage to summer storage. It really deserves more respect. Oh yea, I live in Manasquan, NJ, and will most likely be selling in the Spring.
I do not know how prices go in NJ but here in CA I have lots of comparable prices. Currently here on CL listings there are (4) 13' Whalers circa 60's and 70's in various states of repair from a good condition bare hull for $1200 to a nice one with refinished wood and a 35hp motor for $3800.
Around here as that boats sits with no engine you would probably get $1200 - $1500.00 if it is in good shape. Adding a decent used engine for under a grand would substantially increase the value and your ability to sell the boat.
