there is a brass plate on both sides on the front of my 79 montauk. Today we went fishing and i noticed the one on the right side is missing. Now it has two holes where the little plate was.It is about 1"x3" plate. Is it necessary (other than cosmetic)to have?
I think Dave is right. Do you have a bow rail? If not, pull the other one off and fill the holes. If so, get yourself another plate because you'll find that stanchion stand-off isn't gripping much of anything.
