Hi guys!
I just joined the forum. Picked up a 1966 Whaler 13 yesterday, and am pretty excited about it. I posted pics on my personal page. It is a Sport model, I believe, and has had the console taken out so its a tiller motor now. I think its in pretty good shape. There are lots of spider cracks, and holes in the transom from various attachments over time.
I'd like to do some necessary patching up of holes, etc, but without making it a major restoration project (for now, anyway), are the spider cracks simply cosmetic, or are they something I should be concerned about. Is there anything I can do to prevent possible issues, ie by waxing or overcoating with some kind of clear-coat? Or, no worries? Thanks for your input! Pls see my page for pics of the spider cracks...
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to WC.
I wouldn't worry too much about the spider cracks you're showing on your PP. Repairing the cracks might be a project you might want to take on next fall. With spring just around the corner, it's time for you to make sure she's mechanically sound and ready to go when you're ready.
Good luck to you!
