Just joined yesterday, but have been reading for quite some time, GREAT site. I'm restoring a 9' tender and want to put bottm paint on it. Other than actually puting it in the water, any suggestions on marking the waterline?
Each boat has its own static trim. I could measure mine for you, but that would only be an estimate. It would be best to float it to get an accurate mark.

It is easy to scribe a level waterline with a water level or a laser level, but you MUST have two reference points before you start, one on the bow and one on the stern.
The only practical way to got hose reference points is to float the boat with its normal load and mark them.
