Hey guys.

There's a bunch of us Whaler owners that have a Texas Whaler get together each May at the Port Aransas area. We've talked about the third annual get together last May and you may see somehing pop up on Whaler Central soon about it.

Stand by for the details.

CES:

My son and I might be interested in making a road trip for that. Louisiana whaler owners welcome?? Smile

By the way, I'm booking my next trip for Toledo Bend tomorrow. I'm planning on going over New Year's and possibly Mardi Gras. I just can't squeeze it in before Christmas. Smile

nvcacaro. All Whalers are welcome to join us!!! In fact, it would be pretty cool to have an out of state whaler in the mix. Last year we had a great time and I made a photo album to display the photos of our get together.

I'm off from work from December 27 until January 4 and can meet up at Toledo Bend lake during that week. I haven't caught a decent sized fish in a while so if the fishing is that good in the lake, I might just have to give it a shot. Do you need a special TX/LA fishing license or will my TX freshwater fishing license due?

Hey CES, your Texas freshwater license will do the trick. I asked the same question about my LA license when I first went. Because it is the border of our two states, they honor both.

In case I get busy with work, remind me about a week before visiting. A sub contractor of mine has a camp there and he always knows what they are biting on. I can give you a list of tackle that will tantalize the taste buds of those big bass!

Matter of fact, I just talked to the guy yesterday and he told me that his grandson caught a 6lb. largemouth on a watermelon red plastic worm on Monday. Personally, I may die of heart failure if I latch on to a 6lb. anything!

Thanks for the license information. The reason I asked is because I fish up in lake Texoma, which borders north Texas and southern Oklahoma, and they require a special lake Texoma fishing license. I don't know why they don't recognized either a Texas or Oklahoma fishng license. I guess it's like everything else that's going on recently, the government is just trying to milk every penny they can out of us.

I'm looking forward to catching some bass soon. Like you, I'd probably drop dead from excitement if I caught a six pound anything!! Lol.

Whalerman - I never did get the running lights back so I ordered new ones from Speciality. They look great, but I have not installed them yet. I'm going to run all new wiring to the new lights.
