i have a fuel water separator. i believe its fairly new, but have a feeling it might be nearly full of water. is it possible (or good practice) to remove them, dump the water, and if in fact it is clean, reuse the filter? (after fixing the reason the water is in there of course)

ive already bought a replacement but i can save it for later.

I wouldn't...

They don't cost that much and you never know what might be in the filter part.

Ditto, don't use it.

Its possible to get debris onto the other side when dumping.

I would reuse it only if I dumped the gas into a jar and it looked clean.

That depends if you have one like mine (see PP last pic) you can drain the water off no need to change it.

Like i said i bought a replacement, so ill change it this time, and also see about saving the process of getting the water off the top - just in case i have a water leak in the future.
