If your having trouble with the fuel line kinking near the separator, you may have chosen a place for the installation that just doesn't allow the fuel line reasonable room to make a bend without kinking. Sometimes 90° fittings can be used on the separator to help keep the fuel line better positioned. Some cheap thin-walled fuel lines kink easy as well.
