have been looking at an 82 it has some indenting along the bottom starboard edge and a crack running along the outside edge owner said this was a factory defect that caused the bottom edge to cave in a little looks like cupping very noticeable on starbd side only a little on port is this a real problem or just bad seamanship can it be repaired by re-glassing or should i pass on this boat
Yes there were a large number of 18's with wavey sides. That would not worry me too much but, I would be worried about a crack like that on the outside of the hull near or under the water. Yes it could be fixed. Should you pass on the boat? That depends on a couple factors. For me though, I would.
