After a great deal of internal debate, I made a decision on how best to set my boat up with bow lifting eyes. My search for original eyes was fruitless and other options were too expensive. So what I decided to to was use relatively inexpensive (non-OEM) bow eyes and mount them according to the original installation instructions.
I would like for the great minds of this site to take a look to make sure that there are no inherent structural issues with my setup. My apologies to Larry and other purists (I really wanted to find originals).
There are a couple pictures at the very bottom of this album:
One detail I neglected to share is that the eyes have a lifting capacity of 2600 lbs each.
Has anyone ever seen the original lifting eyes in action? I have yet to use this setup at the lift, and I want to make sure that I am not going to damage the boat.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
