Was just wondering how you guys use the under deck stern fish boxes. There is a main plug on the bottom on mine with a screw plug and a smaller open hole on the vertical lower side of the box which drains to the lower hull pump.
To keep fish cool, do you pull the bottom main plug in the box, find a stopper for the drain plug into the lower hull, and just let it fill up? Does it just exchange water when you move under speed or does enough water circulate through the hull drain to keep fish cool?
To clean it, I am guessing you just wash it out into the lower hull through the smaller opening and just pump the water out.
Its a year 2000. It has two stern boxes running the length of the boat on both sides. About 5 ft long, a little less than a foot wide, about 8" deep I would guess. They start just barely forward of the aft seats and run towards the bow. There is a 1" plug in the bottom which runs straight down through the hull. There is a second hole about 1/2' up from the bottom of the boxes which runs aft and drops into the bilge area. This one is unplugged on my boat.
