Member Posts: 1987 Comments: 34 Joined: 04/02/05	The original windshields for your Newport was produced by Taylor Made which is what Sue sells. Last time I was on UPD I did not see the Newport listed as a regularly stocked item. The forward windshield is no long available from any source. There are companies that are able to recreate it however, they need a OEM part to recreate the form to drape form that piece. I have one in really nice condition and have thought about having a couple made however, I do not think there would be enough of a market for the forward windshields. Maybe I am wrong. Actually Here is the email I got from Sue on 12/11/07 "The fwd windshield on the Newport was discountinued by Taylormade quite some time ago and there was another vender named Happel that was making the "other size" fwd one up until 9-12-2005. In other words, there were 2 sizes for the fwd windscreens. When the mold could no longer produce a quality windscreen, they opted NOT to get another mold due to the costs involved. The fwd windscreens are "Vacuum molded" which is more specialized than just straight windshields. Quantum Plastics O-910-762-3336 in North Carolina said they can mold them, but they must have the customer's original one there. The console windshield is still being made as of today. Looks like UPD at least has them BOTH listed. 2 years ago they did not "stock" anything for a Newport though they said they could make a console windshield for me if I sent mine in or gave clear and detailed sizing. 1993 23' Walkaround Whaler Drive
