I am in the process of buying a new outboard and need to know the correct shaft length. My boat is not accessible to measure the transom.
Can anyone point me to the right place to find the transom height? I believe it requires a 20" long shaft outboard - but want to be sure.
Thanks for your help!

If it is indeed a 1977 with the straight across transom, then you will need the 20 inch Long Shaft motor.
Here is a members personal page showing the straight across the top transom as opposed to the earlier notched transom.

Thank you, Joe. It is "straight across" - I will go for the 20" shaft length. Appreciate your timely response!
