I bought a 13' whaler about 8 yrs ago and have used it 10x .It is in great shape with the original 50 hp mercury outboard. The hull interior is light blue.I had the cable steering replaced with hydraulic. The boat label is torn,so I can not read the model year.I think it is a 1961-1963 model.I have 2 other boats and need to downsize. How do I determine how much to ask for the whaler?I have been told it is a collectible antique boat .Any suggestions. 276-638-7639.Thanks

Welcome to WC. It is hard to tell without photo's what year the boat is. As for it being an antique, that depends on the age but officially anything over 25 years old i believe is an antique, that goes for boats or cars or just about anything. If you believe that label will get you tons more cash for the boat, your probably wrong.

A 13 foot hull with remote steering was rated at 40HP, so I am not sure that 50HP Merc was the original outboard on the boat,
In great shape, with all original interior, garage kept a 13 is worth between 4k-6k but when I say garage kept, I really mean show room new. A used 13 foot whaler in good shape anywhere from 2k-4k and hulls only or boats in bad shape, anywhere from free to 2k. All prices are generalizations and your hull could be worth more or less, depending on condition or the hull, woodwork and outboard.

Someplace in the boat, probably the inside center of the stern is the stencil number. That will tell you the age by looking up on this chart Stencil Numbers

Create a personal page so we can see the boat.

Hello Neighbor, you might also try the bow locker if you don't see the stenciled number on the transom. Unfortunately in our area the boat could go unrecognized for it worthiness and the fact that it is a classic could also be misunderstood. I bought a 13ft several years ago for $200 granted I wasn't really aware of what I was buying for $200. I would try the Smith Mountain Lake area for any takers.
