I have two old canoe paddles I carry just for emergency. I'd like to hang them s omehow onto the side rails or even the inner side of the hull if I could find the right source for such hangers. Oh, this is on a 150 Montauk

Any tips on this ?

Thanks in advance...
Mark

You could hang a couple of Schedule 40 pvc tubes on your rails or mount them to the inside of the gunwhales.

Actually I'm looking for some of those hard rubber 'clip like things' that presently hold the anchoring light to the side of the hull. I think, if mounted correctly, they'll hold a paddle. Searched a lot of boating supply sites but not found them yet.

Check out the Quick Fist clamps:

I've got a few of these to hold a shovel and Pulaski in my LandCruiser. Plenty tough enough for a boat paddle. Smile

I have a 13' boston whaler and I attached the oars under the seats using the white rubber grips. You can also use the stainless steel type. Works like a charm.

Not sure about the "150" series, I have the "Classic" Sport 15, and two 4' canoe paddle's will "lock in" behind the side rail's if you "Invert" them together, I too explored the "Clip's", and the paddles take up less room this way, and are easier to get to quickly when you are up on the "Tidal Flat's".

I keep a paddle on my 76 Montauk. It wedges nicely behind and between two of the rail stanchions.

I ended up ordering a set of rod holders that look as if they may do the job. If not the Quick Fist clamps appear perfect for the job. I tried mounting on the rails but it looked as if they may interfere with the bimini top supports.

Thanks to all...
