I have picked up a 1967 17 foot Whaler in good shape except for terrible spider cracks in the gellcoat. I have a question about screws installed in the forward deck area. On each side of the deck forward of the console area it has a row of screws installed in the center of the radiused grooves running fore and aft. They seem to have been installed under the original gelcoat of the deck. The spacing of the screws seems very precise and centered leading me to believe ther were factory installed. Anyone noticed these fasteners in other old Whalers?

Can you post a photo so we can see exactly where the screws are?
