What is the optimal throttle control cable length for a 1969 13' sport with helm in the original location? I am powering with a 1997 Johnson 25 hp short shaft tiller model which i will be converting to remote. I have heard that 8 is better than 9 feet to elminate extra cable. Does anyone have any experience with this? also, is there such a thing as a tiller conversion to remote kit? i have wheel and steering cable already installed. i have steering linkage for Johnson outboard also. is there a way to make this conversion more simple? I will pull start the engine, (don't need electric start). I think I will go with a simple teleflex side mount single lever control with teleflex cables. thanks in advance. Clay
