I am thinking of adding hydraulic steering to my boat. I have a few questions: What is the proper length of hose for an 18' Outrage? I noticed two types of hoses, Nylon and Kevlar, which is recommended? How long does it take to install?

I used 18 foot hoses and it took about a hour to install and fill. Get some clear hose and a clean bucket to bleed the system. On the sea star cylinder there are two bleed nozzles, attach clear hose to them and feed it into a clean bucket. That way you can reuse the oil and it doesn't get all over your splashwell.
