I noticed some moisture under the Beckson cover over the fuel gauge, is this an indication of water in the foam? If so, I now know what my winter project will be.

Thanks Walt & Joe. Ordered a new cover, now my concern is the moisture under the cover.

Kevin.

There is always some moisture in the fuel tank cavity, I would not be overly concerned.

You should crack open all the deckplates when the boat is out of the water. The foam around the tank holds moisture and this will let it dry.

Hey Kevin, I pulled the floor on my 25 Outrage. The foam looked ok but reality was quite the opposite. There were gallons of water down there. The real problem lies in how the moisture sits against the tank. This is what it looks like when you pull it out and the water has done its job...

There are several small holes in the back of the tank.

A lot of work Scott. I plan on putting my boat in my garage for the winter. I will remove the deck plates to allow moisture to escape.

You better believe it - Those tanks are really in there. Id like to meet the guy who decided to foam them in. It took many hours of labor to get them out. And the smell.... oh boy I wont forget that anytime soon.

I took mine out last fall. The tanks are certainly in there pretty good. I used a sawzall to cut the foam and got it out in a few minutes. I did not have much water under the foam.

A sawzall - Now that is creative. I sat there and dug all my foam out.... ugh.
