repair or replace my floor cleats for sakonnet console and seat...that is the question?

I've seen it done is stainless I believe on some photos listed on the site....but would King Starboard 1" thickness be strong enough and work?

My other thought is to sand down, repair the rot and coat in fiberglass and epoxy for waterproofing the original cleats.

thanks,john
