New member here having just bought a 1984 13' Whaler from South Florida, appears it needs work and has been worked hard before. Back seat is setup for twin pedestal seats-that is going to go- no front bench seat-that will come-and steering console has so many guage holes in it, it is going as well. What I need advice on is just how the front and rear bench seating and console attaches to the hull. Are there locater pins, or what. The cheat is in place for the console and the two seat clamps for the two bench seats, but I noticed one small hole on each side on the hull where the front bench seat lay. Plus it appears the cheat for the console screws directly into the hull floor. Any ideas, as they say I am good with my hands, and have worked with wood and engines so that is not putting me off, just need a template if you will, Thanks in advance. Time this 13" Whaler retired from the bay fishing to its original condition. If pictures will help I can obtain them.
Welcome!
the "notches" in the side rails are for the seats. Some 5/4 mahogany fits in there and is plenty strong. The rear seat fits under the rails and at least one of the rails has to be removed to put it in. The port rais is easiest. The front seat slips inder the rails but with the taper of the hull it is probably best to remove the side rail there too. It's a great boat that you will love.

Is there a picture with measurments if there is no wood in the boat now?
No, boat now has the back seat, console, and side brackets, but suspect they came from another boat, they are a egg shell color, and the console is loosely held together.
Grapevine lake saw the first outing two weeks ago, I have been trying to upload a pix, but no luck. Boat came from Fort Myers area, it is an "ebay" boat and while I am happy to have it, these auctions never are as represented. Regardless first project is installing a front bench seat, this
Whaler did not have one, but did have two holes one on each side on the seat area that the bench seat rests on, The holes are about the size of a pencil, and since I am unfamiliar with Whaler's do not know if I should seal them up or that they serve some purpose for attaching the bench seat. Anyway like the boat. Ifthe pix comes through the small grey square tap in the lower left corner covers one of the two holes. Thanks
