I've removed the railings on my 68 Eastport and realized they are in worse shape than I first thought. Can the stainless coating on these be "re-done"? Does anyone have any history having their railings re-dipped or restored?

Original railings are stainless steel. Stainless steel can be polished. Depending on how new you want them to look will determine how much polishing would be required.

The rail fittings may be of an inferior cast metal. These are probably too far gone to polish. Replacement with solid cast stainless or chromed brass fittings (I don't know when the switch took place, but most later years were chromed brass).

If the fittings are chromed brass, you could have them rechromed, although that may not be an economical route.
