Any Outrage 22' and 25' owners out there with factory Side Rails?

I would like to know the length of your side rails from center to center of outside rail fittings.

I am looking for distance of "A" in the drawing below.

For the record, my 25' does not have grab rails. I do not believe I have ever seen a 25' with them.

Grab Rails and Side Rails were an option on all Outrages.

Grab Rails are smaller, about 29 inches in length.
Side Rails are about 62 inches for 22' models and about 71 inches for 25' models.

View this articles for some differences.

Joe:

After having read your referenced article, I can tell you the dimensions I gave for the 18 Outrage side rails are correct, at least for a 1986 model with the "jointed" rails. I ordered my 18 new, including the side rails which I requested "not installed". I wanted to place them myself, since I had Lee Outriggers also going in the teak gunwale boards. They definitely came from the Whaler factory, as they were shown on the factory shipping order and packaged up by the factory for loose shipping in the boat. I suppose someone at the factory could have pulled the wrong set from inventory, but that would be the only other explanation.

I am not surprised that they used the same size for the 20 and 22's. These boats also have the same bow pulpit size.

You might check with CMI, as I believe he has the original factory specs and can still make a set for someone.

Thanks Larry,

Yes, I am trying to get to the bottom of this.

Did you see the part numbers listed in the article? They are different part numbers for the 18', 22', and 25' so this should tell us that they are different. The only thing different should be the length.

Do you have any part numbers on your original invoice for the side rails when you bought your 18' ?

You also have the Mills Canvas set on your 18', don't you?
Do your rails interfere with the Mills cleats and footman loop?
