Just currious about how many Dauntless 15 owners on Whaler Central and their experiences with the boat, any major issues, upgrades, repowered and how long have they owned the boat. I bought mine just a few weeks ago and have been detailing a few things here and there to spruce it up a notch. Fortunately for me the previous owner really pampered the Dauntless so there hasn't been much for me to do to it. Well that's it for now, Happy Thanksgiving to Whaler Central members and their families.

Does not appear to be many of us. Just bought a 94 2 weeks ago, but it has been too cold to go out.
How have you liked yours, any problems, etc?

I am hoping to add my name to this roster of 15' Dauntless owners next week. I have found one than I am interested in, just have to see what condition it is in and whether the asking price is negotiable. Anything that I should be looking out for?

you might take a look at this. It's from the Whaler Shopper part of this site.

97 15' Dauntless here. Great boat. 75 Merc. Boat rides like it is bigger. Live on the Gulf of Mexico and takes 2-3 ft like nothing. Almost overpowered with the 75. Anyone with good mod ideas ...PLEASE LET ME KNOW... I have had the boat for about six months.

I put the Smart Tabs on my dauntless just to see what they would do for the boat. I was very please, its was like adding 2 feet to the boat. I fish alot in the bays, and it can get pretty choppy, but the smart tabs act as shocks on back and help settle the boat. the boat also picked up a little speed when i took the fin of the motor. i am still messing with the settings a little to tune it in, but so far very happy with the mod. anyone else have any ideas

May be a dumb question, but what are smart tabs? A BW engineer at the boat show said the 15 Dauntless has a tendancy to porpoise. Have you experienced this and did this help? Been to cold to try mine to see if it is a significant problem.

Well I pulled the trigger last Saturday and am the new owner of a 1995 15' Dauntless with a 70 HP Suzuki EFI four stroke that is absolutely pristine! I am thrilled to finally join the Whaler team and look forward to many years of fishing in this great little skiff.

The smart tabs are made by Nauticus, they are automatic trim tabs for smaller boats with porposing problems or if you just want a better ride. it truly is like adding 2 feet to your boat, and realy keeps the bow down check out the website www.nauticusinc.com I will try to post some pic of mine soon.
