Finally I managed to get in here!
Personally I would like to do something up around the Frankfort/Charlevoix area and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. There is a ton to do up there and smaller lakes too if things are rough.
A get together around Port Huron would be nice too, I have never boated the area

Frankfort...Now you are talking! I am going to be up there in July from the 8th - 17th. My father will be with the Montauk as well. That is one on my favorite places in Michigan. Can not wait till my parents finish their place up there.
Other wise the port huron area works good for people around here I would say.
Wish I was able to head other to holland this weekend with you guys...oh well....

Jeff just ride over there you can ride shotgun with me. I am going alone since I dont want the wife to freeze to death on her first Whaler ride.
I am putting my jack plate on tomorrow and hope to go for a quick spin on the river to try to dial it in. Maybe I can hit 50 LOL

Thanks Bob....I tould myself I can not go out on onther boat till the outrage is ready to go. I need to get it done and will be working on it on Sunday. Thank though for the great offer.

Thats not a bad idea Jeff. I have a wedding the week before. If we do it we should find a place to stay up there Saturday night. I dont have any vacation time this year so I would have to go up early Saturday morning. I could have my wife get the weekend off.
The nice thing about up there is if the weather sucks you can go on Crystal Lake or Platte Lake.

I am already going to be up there staying at a family friends cottage with my family. Though at weekend my wife is spending time with her college friends in Traverse City so I free to play on the water all day long. I know my dad would take the Montauk out with his. We are taking both the Montauk and Outrage up with us for 2 weeks of fun!
I would recomend staying at the Platte River National Forest if you would like to camp. Other wise I can check with my friends who have cabins for rent up there for you.....

You folks probably know this, but there's a whaler event in Charlevoix August 5-7. No details yet, but the date has been posted on the whaler.com site for several weeks now:
