Hey,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the repair of a rotten transom of an outrage 210. I was polishing my boat on the trailer toay when I noticed 2 thru hulls were leaking.. I took them off.. and the wood around one is all gone and just mush, the other side is a bit better, but still the wood is definitely not perfect there either.

In theory I see the top of the back (the seats etc) can be taken off to get better access, but that seems also quite the adventure. In theory I could get the wood uit that is left and then pour carbo bond in. the fiberglas seems to be in good condition.

I have the drawings, but any real life help would be much appreciated as this seems an expensive repair.
thanks

Verify the extent of the rot is around the thru hulls. Do not assume anything.

Dig out the mush on both drains and fill the holes with Git Rot.

See -

Re-drill the holes for the drains and reinstall with fresh drain tubes from the

I have a Whaler owner and friend outside Dordrecht who may be a good source of tech support. Can put you in touch.

I am certainly gonna look into this.

Do you have experience with this? btw, I am living in South Florida, not the Netherlands anymore. Nevertheless, I would appreciate any help (as I do speak dutch)

thanks

Location updated,

I took out all the thruhulls and the mush area is just one the outer right of the transam. Went to the local whaler dealer and they suggested to fill with epoxy as well if the bad area is locally.

So will drill some holes to see up to where I need to fill and then start cleaning/ drying with alcohol and fill.
thanks
