1989 has cuddy. My son in law wants to remove it.
Anyone have a link to the process?

Thank you.

Joe,

Thank you. I found how to get to the project album after I asked.
I knew I had seen it on this site.

I am hoping SIL changes his mind, but it is his boat, given by my wife and I. He also owns a 17 Montauk and has owned that for decades.

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for providing all that is here for us owners.

Well we removed the cuddy today. Took about 3 hours with 2 of us. Removing screws was the easy part. There were about 100 rivets holding the cap to the hull. Most could be drilled out but about a dozen had to be cut from the top with a sawzall and metal cutting blade.

The rubber extrusion that looks like 1/4 round actually goes under the lip and was adheared to the inside of the hull behind the trim pieces.

Lots of gummy stuff to remove and a bunch of holes to fill and a very small amount of gelcoat repair.
I think it makes sense to cover the mahogany lids with glass and gelcoat rather than fabricate new ones.
