Greetings!
My Dad has a 210 Outrage that was gorgeous originally, however over the course of several years of non use is getting bad. After getting it running mechanically, we dropped it into the water and unfortunately water is leaking in from the port side. It appears that the most likely culprit is one of the two large deck drains that drain thru the transom. They don’t appear to be sealed at all to the hull.
Is this something that I can just use sealant on or is there a specific gasket for these drains?
I’d really like to get this working so I can spend some time out on the water with Dad. Any and all help / suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!
Alex

The Outrage 210 have two deck drains that allow water from the deck to exit the transom.
These drains are open. With alot of weight in the back, water will enter. This is normal. At rest with no added weight the water will drain out.
If this is not the case, observe if the bilge and fish boxes are dry (should be).
Some owners do not like the water coming in via the deck drains when backing down into seas. They install covers such as the duck bill scupper covers.

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear - the water is pouring into the bilge. I’m going to try and find a place to upload photos and video so I can link them here.
Best regards,
Alex

The transom of the 210 Outrage has many thru hulls as shown in the diagram below.
In addition there is an inspection hatch on the floor of the splashwell that is prone to leak due to the aging of the gasket.

Phil,
Thanks for the diagram. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
For me it looks like one or both of the item #1 on the diagram is leaking, where it should be sealed to the hull. Could you advise on the proper fix for this?
Best regards,
Alex

I would, as a matter of better-safe-than-sorry, replace the drains.
You can order them from any dealer. I prefer using Nauset Marine. They have a really good parts department.

Addendum -
The drains that include the internal flat are great at first but wear out.
An effective alternative is adding a duckbill scupper on the outside.
