Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm in the Dayton area and I scored a free Squall 9 that's I'm fixing up. It's mostly in good shape but needs to be stripped and painted and a couple of the oar locks need to be rebuilt. The biggest issues are the missing rudder/tiller and mast. It's got a crab claw sail and oars.
I'm hoping to find some information on the mast..they seem difficult to find so I'll probably build one from some aluminum tubing. Anyone know how tall the stock mast is? 12' maybe?
I've also got to build a rudder and tiller but I suspect that won't be much trouble, some aluminum sheet and an axe handle are likely to make an appearance.
