I have a classic 13 from 1965 and am trying to design a winter cover for the boat where it is kept outdoors in Northern Wisconsin. The boat has most of the 2" by 1/2" rectangular hardware for a wooden style of arch to support a cover. I would need to make the wooden arches.

Before I make laminated arches, is this the best system to cover the boat?

Thanks
Christian

Just fab up some hoops of 1" pvc and add a center piece. Space them out every 1' with a center piece.

You can use unions or just lash the rail down to the bows.

Cut a V notch in the the end so it sits on the gunnel.

As for the height of the arch, just experiement with a full piece.
