I just purchased a 1999 Outrage 18 and was able to find a spec sheet published by whaler. The boat is 18' -4" OA x 8'3" OA and dry weight is 2500 lbs. Boat has a 2010 Honda 150 weighs 489 lbs, 90 gallon gas tank, and two batteries. Ill never fill the tank up so withal the way so with 1/2 tank of gas the total weight would be about 3600 lbs. The existing Calkins trailer is a mess., needs tires, new brakes and lines, new winch, new ujoints , lots of rust repair.
I found a new Venture VATB 3625 that is an aluminum, dual axel with disc brakes, bunk style trailer it looks like adding keel rollers would involve adding additional cross member.
Anyone done this? Only one set of bunks ,would adding another set of bunks help as well?
Can any one tell me what kind of trailers Whaler packages with their new boats in this size range.
Trailer capacity is 3625 lbs.
Thanks
