First time Whaler Central post, I have a 1999 Whaler Outrage 21 (last year of the 21 before they called them 210). I am troubleshooting a fuel delivery issue and went to check the fuel pickup tube on the aluminum gas tank. I was surprised to see no fuel pickup tube attached to the elbow, it just unscrewed and no tube attached. I can feel what I think is a metal installed tube that runs inside the tank to the bottom. Is this the correct configuration or should there be a plastic pickup hose installed on the elbow that goes down the neck of the tank?
Lot's of google pictures show elbows with plastic pickup tubes which is throwing me off. When I use the primer bulb I can hear the tank siphoning which generally indicates air or cracked pickup tube (or in my case.. no pickup tube??)
