I'm replacing my live well pump and noticed some cracks in the hull area (tube) between the pump base and the end of the pickup tube (see pictures). It looks as if the material is wood but wood is not shown in the area around the sump floor on the wood location diagram. I can't imagine what other material it could be tough. Maybe this is because the livewell is a nonstandard option?

Just curious if anybody knows for sure how the hull is designed in this area?

Doing some probing, nothing is soft or rotten in so I plan to just smear some Boatlife caulk in the cracks before I reinstall the livewell pump. Anybody have other suggestions?

Also, I just replaced the scupper flappers since I was taking on a lot of water through the scuppers. But when salmon trolling, I still expect that floor won't stay dry and the sump being the low point will fill up. I found a mini-bilge pump on Amazon that I plan to install in the sump. Again, anybody have any novel ideas for how to keep the floor dry when the scuppers wind up underwater?
