Hey Whalers! Looking for some educated engine winterization advice. I have a 1993 Montauk 17 with a 2020 Yamaha F90 on it. Just had the 20 hour service completed about 20 hours ago. I've done a ton of research on winterization. The internet is not short on advice, everything from running a fuel/fogging oil mix through the engine to pulling the plugs to fog (which I used to do on my old Evinrude).

The Yamaha owners manual has the simplest of all steps and that is just to spray the fogging oil into the air intake. In this instance I would think the steps in the owners manual trumps the internet. Are new motors really that simple?

I always make sure the fuel is mixed with Yamalube fuel stabilizer and ring free plus.

I live in Northern VA where it gets cold. The motor might sit for a couple of months but if I get the random 60 degree weekend I'll take it out for a spin.

Thanks!
