Looking at a 1991 16 SL with a 2006 Evinrude 90. Trailer included. From ad, boat looks well maintained. Seller is asking 10k, NADA estimate is 7-8k. I'm extremely new to boat valuation. I personally like the SL as it seems a versatile vessel. I would like to know (after a sea trial and inspection of course) what I should offer. It has a painted bottom, which I need since this is a north east salt water inshore vessel. Much thanks!
I don’t think 10k is out of line in this market. In the NE that’s what old Montauks are getting with old power. At least this is a somewhat recent 2 stroke.
Any worries about the fuel tank? I was interested in this model but it seems they can get wet.
Proud owner of a 1993 16-SL, this model offers a dry ride and is very capable hull.
Proper engine height, prop, and weight distribution within the boat male a huge difference

Also seeking to buy pre-1995 Boston Whaler. Found one: $6,300 MODEL #SL 16-foot starboard-side console. Prefer a 15-ft. Sport w/ Bimini Top but few & far between-- it's just me, boating solo, female, retired-- need something I can trailer/untrailer easily & safely. Also the 94-lb. Yellow Lab water-dawg.
1/ 2005 Yamaha 50-HP. Yes, I know "under-powered" but (aside from slow speed) is this a problem or dangerous otherwise?
2/ What to look for? I only have 4-photos of it, no close-ups thus unable to determine condition.
3/ Can 16-ft. LS be retro-fitted w/ typical aftermarket BIMINI TOPS on Amazon?
My first post, thanks kindly for welcoming me back to the Boston Whaler community.
